Spokane is a low-density, low-rise city, sprawling out north and east for miles. Because of this, it often feels more like a very big small town than an urban center; but it also has quite a few charming old buildings in the downtown area that haven't been razed to make way for skyscrapers.

The boxy building on the right looking like a refrigerator is more the exception than the rule downtown.
