Continue on down the mountain and shortly before you reach the park boundary you'll come to Longmire, with its handsome inn (a much nicer place to stay than the Paradise Inn), a museum, cabins, and a fine restaurant. An old gas station has been turned into a little museum of transportation in the early days of the park.

One of the best amenities of the inn is the view of Rainier from its front porch chairs.
