The Moscow Idahonian transformed itself some years ago into the Moscow-Pullman Daily News. Pullman readers sometimes complain that their city is scanted by the Moscow-based paper; and some faculty members still somewhat unfairly nurse grudges against the paper caused by a series of remarkably stupid anti-faculty editorials published several editors ago. However, it does report on the local area better than anyone else.

One thing the paper excels in is its coverage of the local arts and enterainment scene. Newcomers to the area would be well advised to at least pick up the Thursday evening edition and consult the "Arts and Entertainment" section. There is no Sunday edition, but the Sunday comics are published on Saturday.

Many people who prefer a heftier paper choose Lewiston Morning Tribune (with liberal editorials) or the Spokesman Review (with conservative editorials). The Tribune naturally gives you a lot of news about Idaho and not much about Washington, and the Spokesman concentrates on Spokane. The Tribune is published by the same company that publishes the Daily News.
