"Nearly 3,000 freshmen at Washington State University will get "The Flu" this summer the book, not the virus as the institution launches its first "common reading" project. Written by New York Times science reporter Gina Kolata, who will visit the WSU campus Nov. 6, The Flu: The Story of the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918 and the Search for the Virus that Caused It, was chosen this spring by WSU President V. Lane Rawlins."
