Library Resources
The GRIFFIN library catalog includes holdings for all the WSU Libraries across the state. The library is also a member of SUMMIT, a union catalog of member libraries in Washington and Oregon. SUMMIT allows students and faculty at WSU to search for and borrow books from these libraries at no cost.
Indexes, Abstracts and Other Databases
- CAB Abstracts (1910-present): Includes references and abstracts
from Index Veterinarius, Veterinary Bulletin; selected references from Helminthological Abstracts, Protozoological Abstracts, Review of Medical
and Veterinary Mycology, Review of Medical and Veterinary Entomology, Animal Breeding Abstracts, Dairy Science Abstracts; and selected references from Nutrition Abstracts and
Reviews-Series B, Poultry Abstracts, Pig News and Information, and Agbiotech News and Information.
- Fish & Fisheries Worldwide (1971-present): Citations to the world literature dealing with
fish and fish culture and all aspects of ichthyology and fisheries.
- PubMed (1966-present): Includes citations, with summaries, to articles
biomedical journals, including veterinary titles. PubMed also contains links to some online full text journals.
- Wildlife & Ecology Worldwide (1935-present): Citations to the world research literature dealing with
wild mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
Electronic Journals
The most comprehensive list of electronic journals available to WSU faculty, staff, and students is available from the
Find Journal Articles page. Click on the Electronic Journals link and then enter the title of your journal in the search box, or choose the first letter in the title to browse. Many databases, including CAB Abstracts, PubMed, and Web
of Science, contain Find It! buttons which link to fulltext journal articles, when available, GRIFFIN (the library catalog), and interlibrary loan services.
There are also links to most electronic journals in
Griffin. If you cannot find a journal that you have reason to believe should be available at WSU, or you would like to have electronic access
to, please contact Vicki Croft.

- AVMA Guidelines on Euthanasia
- Foreign Animal and Zoonotic Disease Center: Developed
by the Humanitarian Resource Institute. Provides access to educational materials, online courses, and directories associated with the study of foreign animal,
zoonotic and emerging infectious diseases.
- IVIS (International Veterinary Information Service): Provides access to electronic books, veterinary
meeting proceedings, continuing education, an international calendar of veterinary events, and image collections.
- MediLexicon: A database of medical and pharmaceutical acronyms, abbreviations, drug information, ICD-9 codes, and medical equipment.
- NetVet Veterinary Resources & the Electronic Zoo: A collection of veterinary medical and animal-related
information available on the Internet. Associated with the AVMA Network.
- Veterinary Education and Information Network, VEIN: University of Sydney's information
service for veterinary and animal scientists and allied animal health professionals. Database access, relevant links and continuing education resources are offered
with an emphasis on service to Australasia.
