• Library Catalog

  GRIFFIN Library Catalog The library catalog includes holdings for all the WSU Library sites, in Pullman and across the state. Please note: Electronic journals and other 'virtual' publications are included in the catalog.

• Indexes, Abstracts and Other Databases

  • Sociological Abstracts: A database containing citations with abstracts to articles on all aspects of sociology, social work, and other social sciences. It covers from 1963-present.
  • Child Abuse, Child Welfare & Adoption Database: This database containes citations with abstracts to articles on all aspects of sociology, social work, and other social sciences. It covers from 1965-present.
  • Contemporary Women's Issues:   Provides access to global information on women including references to journals, newsletters, research reports from non-profit groups, government and international agencies. It covers from 1992-present. It is available through the WSU Libraries Gateway to faculty and students affiliated with the Pullman campus.
  • Statistical Lexis-Nexis: Includes indexes and abstracts of printed federal, state, and international statistical publications, as well as selected business and professional publications containing statistics. It does not cover statistics issued by foreign governments.

• Data Sets

  The primary source for data sets for Washington State University faculty and students is the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research ICPSR). ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction. You can download a data set directly from ICPSR to any computer on one of the WSU campuses. Some major sources of electronic journals for Sociology are: 

Commercial Publishers 

• ScienceDirect:  WSU has access to over 800 journals published by Elsevier, (including 14 that focus on sociological topics) 1995 to the present
• JSTOR: JSTOR contains 117 journals of which 13 are sociological journals from their inception to 1994. These include: American Journal of Sociology , American Sociological Review , Annual Review of Sociology , Contemporary Sociology, Journal of Black Studies, Journal of Health and Social Behavior , Journal of Health and Human Behavior , Public Opinion Quarterly , Social Psychology Quarterly , Social Psychology, Sociometry, Sociology of Education, Journal of Educational Sociology.
• Wiley Interscience Journal Indexes: containing selected Fulltext articles or links to Electronic journals  while most of these are science journals there are some that deal with psychology and human development.
• Proquest: An interdisciplinary database that contains some full articles
