    GRIFFIN Library Catalog The library catalog includes holdings for all the WSU Library sites, in Pullman and across the state. Please note: Electronic journals and other 'virtual' publications are included in the catalog.

    Indexes, Abstracts and Other Databases

    • America: History, and Life Contains citations to journals, books, reviews, and dissertations related to the colonization of America (15th century)-present. Abstracts in Anthropology Provides print access to significant anthropological research in journals from 1983-present. This print abstract is available in Holland and Terrell Reference at Z5111 .A2. Anthropological Literature Provides access to journal articles and essays from the 19th century to the present. Ethnic Newswatch. It is a full-text collection of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press. A rich collection of articles, editorials, columns, reviews, etc. that provide a broad diversity of perspectives and viewpoints. Dates of coverage vary - usually from early to mid-1990's to the present. Sociological Abstracts. A First Search database containing citations with abstracts to articles on all aspects of sociology, social work, and other social sciences. It covers from 1963-present.
    • Sage Family Studies Abstracts Contains citations with abstracts to articles, reports, books and other materials on policy, theory and research relating to the family, traditional and alternative lifestyles, therapy and counselling. It indexes 29 journals from 1999 - present. It is available to faculty and students affiliated with the Pullman campus. The print version of this resource in available in Holland and Terrell Reference at HQ728 .S34x.

    Electronic Journals

    WSU Lists its electronic journal holdings in two locations. First, electronic journals can be found by searching by title in the library's catalog.  References to electronic journals in the Griffin catalog have hypertext links to the electronic journal themselves or the database that contains that electronic journal.  The second place to look to check to see if the library has a subscription to an electronic journal is on the WSU Electronic Journals list. If you cannot find a journal that you have reason to believe should be available at WSU, or you would like to have electronic access to, please contact Gabriella Reznowski.
    • JSTOR: JSTOR is an online archive of 117 journals primarily in the social sciences. Ethnic Newswatch. It is a full-text collection of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press. A rich collection of articles, editorials, columns, reviews, etc. that provide a broad diversity of perspectives and viewpoints. Dates of coverage vary - usually from early to mid-1990's to the present.     • Project MuseOver 90 full text journals, most of those in the humanities. Includes: Asian Theater Journal, Buddhist-Christian Studies, Contemporary Pacific, Ethnohistory, Journal of Asian American Studies, Korean Studies, Manoa, Oceanic Linguistics, Positions: East Asia Cultures Critique.

    • : A Curriculum Project for the History of the Pacific Northwest in Washington State Schools. Developed by: The Center for the Study of the Pacific Northwest and Matthew W. Klingle, University of Washington, Department of History.
    • Japanese American Exhibit and Access ProjectThis exhibit chronicles the experiences of Seattle's Japanese Americans in the Spring and Summer of 1942, when they were removed from their homes and taken to Puyallup assembly center, nicknamed "Camp Harmony" by Army information officers. Photos and informative pieces are mixed with original documents, including evacuation orders, articles from Seattle newspapers and the camp newsletter, and official camp documents. Produced by the University of Washington, the site also offers full and partial guides to the considerable holdings of related materials at the Manuscripts and University Archives as well as a bibliography of secondary works held at the University.Japanese American Relocation Digital Archives: Part of the California Digital Library, this project is a digital "thematic collection" documenting the experience of Japanese-Americans in World War II internment camps. The site is designed to serve as a gateway to finding aids, digital images, and electronic texts from eight different collections housed in California. Project is not yet complete but already provides access to a large digital image collection among other resources.A Timeline of Prejudices Against Asian-Americans in the History of the United States:
    • Center for Multilingual Multicultural Research: This Center is at the University of Southern California and its foci are multilingual education, English-as-a second language, and foreign language instruction, multicultural education and related areas. The Site Index in the left side frame provides access to articles and other resources arranged by topic and by cultural group.
