The WSU Oral History Project was launched in 2004 as a means of documenting and preserving the unique history of Washington State University by those who had a part in making it. To date we have interviewed a number of key WSU decision-makers. Their interviews are now available for you to access via audio streaming.
The WSU Oral History Project will always be a “work in progress.” Our future plans include:
- continuing to conduct professional interviews of many of the individuals who have influenced WSU in significant ways
- transcribing the interviews to enhance the listening experience
- implementing full-text searching of each of the oral history interview transcripts
- linking the OHP site to other WSU departmental oral histories
- converting older oral histories from cassette tape to streaming audio with transcripts
- implementing a “Cougar Families” project that will allow us to preserve the memories and experiences of generations of WSU alumni
We believe it is critical to preserve these memories now for future generations of Cougars. As the WSU Oral History Project continues to evolve and expand, your generous support will ensure the quality and accessibility of the OHP.
WSU alumni, faculty, and students thank you, our loyal donors, for your generous support of this project.
