Contracts, 1950-1966

The Contracts sent to the University Archives by the Physical Plant in August 1978 have been processed. The following is a list of the contracts that we have and the container in which they have been placed.

ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

Washington State University's Department of Physical Plant has responsibility for a wide-ranging set of tasks concerning the buildings and grounds of the university. Among these tasks are various construction and remodeling efforts, usually of smaller scale and outside the scope of concern of the Department of Facilities Planning, the office responsible for major construction and renovation projects.

In some cases, the Department of Physical Plant contracts for construction and remodeling work, rather than using the crews and facilities of the department. In those cases, the department manages the contracts. It is those contracts that comprise this group of records.

ARRANGEMENT AND DESCRIPTION

The records are arranged by contract number, which are incidently in chronological order. In many instances, records concerning a given contract may occupy more than one folder.
