Archives 227 Intercollegiate Athletics - Football Football Films 1986-1988 Films of the Washington State University football team were transferred to the University Libraries in 1992 (accession MS92-13). The films were reviewed, arranged and listed by Scott Stratton in August 1996.

Football has been played at Washington State University since the 1890s. Filming began in the 1920s. Films are held at the University Archives identified by several record series numbers (Archives 29, 188, 204, and 212) in addition to those from 1986-1988. We've also created a combined chronological listing of these films. The motion pictures made for coaching purposes during the period from 1986 to 1988 were the last of a long series made with chemical photography film. Beginning in 1989, the games were recorded with video tape.
