The files of the journal Western Veterinarian were transferred to the University Archives, Washington State University, in July 1982 (UA 82-17) by Linda Hines, managing editor. They were processed in October 1983 by Paul Green.
HISTORICAL SKETCH
Western Veterinarian, published by the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University, first appeared in 1953 as Cougar Veterinary Yearbook. With the publication of volume two in 1955, it became Western Veterinarian. Although not published from 1964 through 1971, it later appeared three times a year.
ARRANGEMENT AND DESCRIPTION
The files of Western Veterinarian range from 1975 to 1980, with most dating from 1977 to 1979. Arranged by the journal staff under a coded classification scheme, the files have not been rearranged. Thus they fall into two series, with the first series subdivided into several subseries. Series two is fragmentary and consists of only the first two folders.
