BIOGRAPHY

Jaqueline Packard was an undergraduate at the State College of Washington in the mid-1930s. Beginning in 1937, she pursued a master's of science degree in botany at the State College. Much of this collection surrounds her thesis project: "A Sketch of the Vascular Flora of the Seven Devils Mountains, Idaho County, Idaho." Moore never completed her M.S. degree. She married William Rice Moore, a 1939 WSC graduate in forestry. The Moores shortly moved to Texas.

ARRANGEMENT AND DESCRIPTION

There is no particular arrangement to the Jaqueline Packard Papers. Most of the collection is plant lists and plant identification labels that Moore assembled while a graduate student in botany at the State College of Washington in the 1930s. It also includes correspondence about the the collection, plant identification labels for several other collections, and papers documenting William Rice Moore's plant collection. Also found is a detailed outline of Packard's intended master's thesis project and several snapshot photographs of her 1937 botanical expedition to Idaho's Seven Devils country.
