Leonard Hegnauer
Papers, 1954-1963

The papers of Leonard Hegnauer (1872-1963), agronomist and agricultural extension worker, were donated to the Washington State University Library in 1961-1963 by Mr. Hegnauer and Miss Ella Clark. They were processed by Lawrence R. Stark in September, 1972.

The papers consist of holographs and manuscript copies of Mr. Hegnauer's writings, principally his unpublished autobiography, "Eighty-six Golden Years," which he wrote with the assistance of Ella Clark, between 1954 and 1958. The autobiography, in addition to personal and family history, includes a lengthy discussion of such matters as agricultural history in the midwest and western states, agricultural practices, technology and education, and the history of Washington State University.
