The WSU Libraries are pleased and proud to present an exhibit entitled "The Beautiful Baily Books: A Lifetime of Collecting." The exhibit affords us our first opportunity to showcase selections from the extraordinary library of WSU benefactors Joseph and Berniece Gilman Baily.
The Baily collection was acquired by the WSU Libraries in the summer of 1998.
Valued at over a quarter of a million dollars, the Baily collection reflects the owners' wide-ranging enthusiasm for art, literature, philosophy, religion, folklore, costume, fine printing and binding, cookbooks, heraldry, and much more.
What draws these diverse interests together is the charming combination of the Bailys' refined sensibilities and their lifelong passion for knowledge and beauty.
