TASK FORCE TO INVESTIGATE AN E-JOURNAL MANAGEMENT DATABASE

September 25, 2001

Charge

  • Investigate and discover what data the Libraries university-wide currently collect or use regarding e-journals: Griffin, A-Z list(s), journal use studies, regular add/delete data, licensing data, etc.

     

  • Survey departments and WG's to determine what data, either input or output, they need.

     

  • Draft specs for e-journal (or all-journal) management database.

     

  • Get feedback from departments and WG's.

     

  • Complete final DRAFT and recommend how the new database(s) is to be implemented, maintained, and used.

Draft Report due date: November 1, 2001

Activities:

  • November 28, 2001 - The group submitted a draft recommendation to Library Council at its November 28, 2001 meeting. The group will consider the discussion and re-work the draft as needed. See item 3d in the Library Council minutes for that meeting.
  • February 20, 2002 - The task force submitted its report to LC for initial review with substantive discussion to occur at the February 27 meeting.
