DIRECTOR’S ADVISORY COUNCIL WORKING
AGREEMENT

ATTENDANCE
- Meetings will begin on time.
- If unable to attend, members notify the Chair or the
Recorder and send any input or documents prior to the meeting. Members may
ask to have agenda items tabled if they want to be present for discussion or
decision. Agenda items added at the meeting may be tabled if input of absent
members is needed.
- If an extended absence of a member is anticipated, DAC
may assign a substitute. Substitutes are not needed for occasional absences,
such as vacation or meeting conflicts.
- Members assume responsibility for informing themselves of
what occurred at missed meetings and for communicating the discussion to
their assigned constituencies.
- Members are responsible for getting input from their
constituents prior to discussions of agenda items.
PREPARATION
- Members are prepared for every meeting.
- Members read all agenda-related materials sent ahead of
time.
- Members bring necessary handouts.
- Members are ready to lead discussions of assigned agenda
items.
PARTICIPATION
- DAC provides and encourages equal opportunities for
participation, and members assume individual responsibility to participate
fully.
- Members act collegially and with mutual respect.
OPERATING PROCEDURES
- Meetings are held on a regular basis, typically no more
than twice a month.
- At the end of each meeting members set a tentative agenda
for the next meeting, which will be emailed to Libusers by the Recorder
following each meeting. Members review and confirm recommendations and
assigned tasks.
- To reduce email traffic, for matters discussed on the DAC
listserv, non-response indicates agreement.
- Meetings are open to everyone.
