Love Your WSU Libraries Contest
Overview
Love Your WSU Libraries is a contest involving participation from allWashington State University students. Contestants are to take pictures of themselves “loving” or
showing their appreciation for WSU Libraries and submit their images on our Love Your WSU Libraries
webpage. The reviewed and approved submissions will then be posted to the WSU Libraries Pullman
Twitter account and on the Holland and Terrell Libraries Facebook wall. All students have the opportunity
to vote for their favorite image and the winners will be awarded and have their picture featured on the
contest’s results posters which will be displayed on campus.

Eligibility:
Who is eligible to participate?

All Washington State University students are eligible to participate in the contest.
Can only students participate?

Yes, only Washington State University students are eligible to participate in this contest.
Can more than one participant be photographed in their image?

More than one participant can be photographed in a submitted image. However
the prize will be awarded the same as it would for an individual, to be shared by each
member in the group/organization photograph.
Designating Winners:
How will group/organization photographs be awarded?

The group or organization will be given an equivalent individual photo prize.
Are winners going to be drawn by sweepstakes or voted for?

The results of this contest will be based off of voter accumulation. All WSU faculty, staff
and students will be able to vote for their favorite pictures. The top five pictures that
have accumulated the most votes will win.
How many winners will be drawn?

The contest will consist of five winners.
Prizes:
What are the prizes?
-
Each of the five winners will be rewarded with a $50 gift certificate to The Bookie and the
opportunity for the winners' pictures to be featured on a contest’s results poster.
Timeline:
What is the duration of the Love Your WSU Libraries Campaign?

The contest will run from 8:00am on December 3, 2012 to 5:00pm on February 14, 2013.
How will winners know if they have won?

Since the campaign will run through Twitter, Facebook and the Love Your WSU Libraries webpage,
the amount of “likes” accumulated on your photograph will count as votes on Facebook and Twitter.
You can track the progress of your photo by checking Twitter and Facebook and comparing the amount
of “likes” of your photo with the “likes” of other photos. Contestants may also track their successes in
the contest by checking the Love Your WSU Libraries webpage. At the end of the contest, winners will
be contacted through email by an affiliate of the Love Your WSU Libraries campaign notifying them of
their winning and how to receive their prize.

What types of photos will be accepted for this campaign?

The contest will accept any positive, appropriate pictures depicting“love” or appreciation for the Libraries.

The contest will not tolerate any vulgar pictures involving nudity or inappropriate behavior.

Each contestant, group, or organization can submit as many photos as they’d like.

This contest includes all Washington State University Libraries.
Does the photo have to be located in the library?

The photo does not have to be taken within the libraries. However, the photo must
acknowledge the library within the image. Therefore, the image should include a
part of the library building itself, recognizable statues, or something connected to
the library.

personally state “I Love My WSU Libraries.”

By submitting a photo, contestants hereby consent and agree that Washington State
University, its employees or agents have the right to take submitted photographs, digital
images, or video/film of contestants (and/or their property) and to use them for educational
and promotional materials. Contestants further consent that their name may be revealed
therein or by descriptive text or commentary. Contestants hereby release to Washington
State University, its agents and employees all rights to exhibit this work publicly or privately,
including postings to University web pages and to market and sell copies. Contestants
waive any rights, claims or interests they may have to control the use of my identity or likeness
in the photographs, digital images, video or film and agree that any uses described herein may
be made without compensation.

Pictures will be posted on the Holland and Terrell Libraries (Washington State University)
wall, and voting will be recognized as the sum of “likes” on a photograph. One “like” is equal
to one vote.
