A world class university must have a world class library to support its undergraduate experience, to attract strong graduate students, and to hire and retain prominent and committed teaching and research faculty.

Our vision for becoming world class is to position the WSU Libraries in the top 40 as ranked by the prestigious Association of Research Libraries. The achievement of this ranking will require a significant increase in our endowments, with the interest going towards purchase of new acquisitions. The WSU Libraries' endowments currently total $2,000,000. Our goal is to increase the endowments to $10,000,000 by 2008.

Why give to the Library Excellence Fund?

Information Resources: Your gifts to the Library Excellence Fund provide for the purchase of books, journals, multi-media, and digital resources that support teaching and research programs across all disciplines.
Technology Infrastructure: Generous donations to the Library Excellence Fund allow us to provide students and faculty with up-to-date computer equipment and enable the future purchase of laptops, hand-held devices, wireless, and other technologies that enhance access to information.
Digital and Preservation Projects: Gifts to the Library Excellence Fund are used to digitize and preserve our unique collections of manuscripts, photographs, maps, and other historical materials -- and to place them on the Web for worldwide access.
Faculty and Staff Development: Because of private donations to the Library Excellence Fund, faculty and staff participate in important professional conferences, workshops, and planning sessions -- allowing the WSU Libraries involvement in exciting state, regional, and national library initiatives.

Remember, a gift to the Libraries benefits everyone at WSU!
