3.a.2  STATEMENT ON NO PREFERENTIAL BALLOTING IN THE WSU LIBRARIES

 

 

Although WSU departments in academic units recommend their department chairs through the process of preferential balloting (WSU Faculty Manual, p. 12-14) and a similar process had formerly been used in the Libraries to recommend division chiefs, this procedure is no longer used in the Libraries.  The Director's Council recommended on December 14, 1982 that the procedure not be applied to any administrators or unit heads in the Libraries.  The Director concurred.  (Director's Council meeting, 12/14/82)

 

A motion to reinstate preferential balloting was defeated at the May 11, 1984 Library Faculty Meeting.  (Library Faculty Meeting, 5/11/84)
