2.a       FACULTY RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

In accordance with the duties of faculty as defined in the WSU Faculty Manual, Library faculty have specified the following rights and responsibilities of library faculty:

 

 

1.      To assume leadership in setting and achieving the Library’s policies to support its mission.

 

2.      To advocate a library structure which supports the roles and responsibilities of library faculty.

 

3.      To develop and maintain policies and procedures concerned with tenure and promotion.

 

4.      To promote and participate in professional development.

 

5.      To address issues which the Director brings before the faculty.

 

6.      To evaluate the effectiveness of the Library’s management.

 

7.      To advocate the Libraries’ evolving roles and responsibilities in achieving the educational and research mission of the University.
