The Information Literacy Tutorial

Welcome to Washington State's Information Literacy Tutorial!

TILT is an educational Web site designed to introduce you to research sources and skills. The tutorial is broken up into four components, an introduction, and three modules. The introduction should take you about 5-10 minutes and each module should take you about 20-30 minutes.

All three modules include:

  • a brief overview
  • a list of key concepts and skills you should learn
  • main text
  • a quiz

Once you have completed the introduction and selected one of the three modules, you will notice crimson bars at both the top and bottom of the screen. These navigation bars contain helpful links. General tips are available in HELP, explanations of key terms are offered in GLOSSARY, a list of the key concepts you should learn is shown in MODULE OBJECTIVES, and access to all pages within a module is available through SITE MAP. You can also tell us what you think using FEEDBACK. At the end of each module is a brief quiz, so feel free to take notes if it will help. Finally, you can contact the WSU Libraries Instruction Department using the information at the bottom of each page.
