Delivery of Books to your home

Books, films, DVDs and music CDs from WSU, Summit, and libraries worldwide.

Make sure we have your correct address in the Libraries' system by checking your Griffin account (a.k.a. "Griffin record.").

Use WSU WorldCat to find books (or media items). Access WSU WorldCat from the WSU Libraries' front page (first search box) or from this URL:

http://washingtonstate.worldcat.org/

Note: The timeline mentioned in the button above refers to time before delivered to the Pullman campus. There is an additional day before material is sent out and another day or two before you receive it. (So plan on about 8 days for material delivered from one of the Summit libraries.)

When you are looking at a record in WSU WorldCat, you will see one of three "Request" buttons. Use this button to initiate your request.

There is no charge for any of these requests.

COST: FREE
Effective September 1, 2006, DDP will pay for the mailing and return shipment of books and other materials that you order from the WSU Libraries.

Your materials will be shipped by US Mail, using Priority Mail flat rate boxes. Enclosed with your items will be a return address label and Priority Mail stamps for the return postage. Once you are done with the materials, repackage them in the box, affix the labels and stamps, and drop the box off at the post office.

If the box is damaged, the post office will provide Priority Mail boxes and supplies free of charge.

If you lose the stamps, you will need to return the items yourself.

Electronic Books (ebooks) There are numerous ways to access e-books including the NetLibrary database, but also via Griffin or WSU WorldCat (especially academic encyclopedias and dictionaries.

Fulltext articles online for
printing or downloading

You will find many, many articles available to you online and readily accessible from your home.

One of the best databases to start with for access to online articles is Academic Search Complete. However, there are many other article indexes which provide fulltext articles. You can access them from the Article Indexes page.

PLEASE NOTE: Beginning sometime in the Fall of 2009, WSU WorldCat will also search Academic Search Complete. It currently searches a handful of article databases including ERIC, ArticleFirst, and Medline. - (written 9/1/09)

Fulltext articles online via Find It!

Not infrequently, you may come across a database that only offers you an abstract (or summary) of an article. While that database may not offer you fulltext access to the article, it is possible that another one of our databases DOES supply the fulltext.

The Find It! service links databases together to help you find fulltext. If you only find the article abstract in the database you are using, click on the Find It! button to find out whether the article is available online elsewhere.

Sometimes, you will find that the article you want is NOT ONLINE. If you have used the Find It! menu and determined that it is indeed NOT ONLINE, you may request electronic delivery from the ArticleReach service that is also located on the FindIt menu.

Sometimes we will need to pass your article request on to our Interlibrary Loan office when we cannot get it for you from the Article Reach service. Make sure you have established your ILLiad account before requesting items, just in case this happens.
