As part of the Daily Operations team in the Systems office, I’m responsible for triaging incoming emergency phone calls and new helpdesk requests, gathering more information about problems, resolving as many as possible, and assigning jobs to other Systems personnel as appropriate. As part of this responsibility, I give users information about hardware and software procedures, about university technology policies and resources, and teach them how to use technology that’s available to them. I also assist library users who are having problems connecting to our online resources remotely, helping them resolve problems with access due to firewalls, incorrect browser settings, network IDs, and passwords. I work with the helpdesk personnel in Information Technology Services to handle library-related questions and problems they receive.

I Some of my other duties include maintaining inventories and current location of computer related equipment in the library and processing inoperative or obsolete equipment that will be sent to Surplus Stores for recycling or disposal. I also hire, help to train and maintain budgets for student employees for the Systems office
