Library Data Database
Project Description: This project aims to locate or develop locally a solution to challenges inherent in collecting library data. The resulting solution will replace a collection of linked spreadsheets currently in use facilitating ARL reporting.
Considerations for solutions should address the following:
- Create a central location for entering raw data in the field (e.g. gate counts) and processed data from the Data Officer (e.g. FY expenditures)
- Enhance the visibility of relationships between data collected
- Ability to create consistent forms across the institution to assist in ensuring data consistency and comparability
- Have the ability to query data and metadata
- Ability to present data to all library employees, to facilitate data informed decision making
