Business | Finance Before You Start
The Business librarians at the Holland and Terrell Libraries recommend that you consult the online help feature of Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe for assistance in formulating your search strategy. To find this feature, connect to Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe, select "Help" at the upper left of the screen; select "Conducting Research," and choose "Comapany" or "Industry," where you will find suggestions for strategies and sources.

Library Catalog
GRIFFIN Library Catalog The library catalog includes holdings for all the WSU Library sites, in Pullman and across the state. Please note: electronic journals and other 'virtual' publications are included in the catalog.
Indexes, Abstracts and Other Databases
For a more comprehensive listing, select "Article Indexes/E-Journals" from the WSU Libraries homepage. View the "Databases by Subject" pull-down menu, and select "Business & Law." You may also find helpful resources in the section labeled "General & Multidisciplinary."
- Business Source Complete (EBSCO): Index of over 1000 business and economics journals with 500 in full text including charts and graphics.
- Global Market Information Database (GMID): Provides key business intelligence on countries, companies, markets and comsumers. Covers over 350 markets and 207 countries.
- Lexis-Nexis Academic : Contains a wide variety of business information, including news articles from major national and international newspapers and business periodicals, and company, industry, and legal information.
- IBISWorld: Provides full-text U.S. industry reports on over 700 industries at the 5-digit NAICS level. Includes current and historical performance, key competitors, 5-year forecasts and analysis.

HG4057 .A575Electronic Journals
There are two primary ways to gain access to WSU electronic journals. The first is to search GRIFFIN for the title of a specific journal, and then select the hypertext link; this will lead either to the journal itself or to the database containing the journal. The second is to select "Article Indexes/E-Journals" from the WSU Libraries home page; in the section labeled "Electronic Journals," search or browse for the journal title.

- 2002 Economic Census. Look here for industry data compiled and published by the federal government. This may also be searched using American Fact Finder.
- Annual Report Gallery. Online annual reports for many publicly traded companies.
- Bizstats: Especially useful for research on small business topics.
- Business Plan Archive. Real business plans available free, going back to the birth of the dot com era.
- CogMap: The Org Chart Wiki. A Wiki that provides organization charts for companies and other organizations.
- Company Research. From OhioLINK, this website contains a wide variety of research, including a tutorial.
- Edgar Database of Corporate Information (SEC). Company filings online. See also 10K Wizard.
- Hoover's Online: Company and industry information, financial news. A more complete version of Hoover's is available through Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe.
- International Standad Industrial Classification (ISIC Revision 3). Source of information about industrial classifications, similar to NAICS and SIC, for international purposes. From the United Nations.
- NAICS (North American Industry Classification System). Use "NAICS Search to identify official classification information about an industry. Another useful function converts NAICS classifications to SIC and vice versa.
- Rutgers University Libraries Research Guide: Business. From the "Guide Contents" sections, choose "Company Research." You will find well-organized links to in-depth information as well as strategy suggestions.
