The Myron S. Huckle photographic scrapbook collection consists of scrapbooks donated by Myron Huckle to the Washington State University Library in September, 1978 (78-37) and from scrapbooks which had been received by the library from other sources prior to 1970. They were processed by David Smestad in November, 1978.
BIOGRAPHY
Myron Samuel Huckle graduated from Washington State College in 1927 with a BS in mechanical engineering. He supported himself while in college and for a few years following as a professional photographer. After leaving Pullman he taught for fifteen years: one year at the thermodynamics laboratory at Harvard University, five years in aeronautics at MIT, and nine as President of the U.S. Engineering School. He spent thirty-three years as Air Reserve officer with five years active duty in World War II. He retired as a Lt. Col. in 1968. He also spent nine years as industrial engineer with the Defense Supply Agency at San Francisco. Myron Huckle presently lives with his wife in Seattle. They have three children, two of whom attended WSU, and 5 grandchildren.
DESCRIPTION AND ARRANGEMENT
The collection consists of 14 scrapbooks consisting of black and white photographic prints of WSU campus buildings, student activities, athletics, faculty and campus groups. The photographs are somewhat organized by subject.
