ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

The photographs in this grouping deal with agricultural research, agricultural education, agricultural extension, and with farming proper. Most, if not all, were used at one time in publications of the Washington State University College of Agriculture.

ARRANGEMENT AND DESCRIPTION

The arrangement is that used by the members of the College of Agriculture staff that were involved with the publication of the various forms of literature released by the College. This arrangement, consequently, tends to classify images according to subjects, but has many exceptions. The arrangement has been retained by the Libraries even though it is not very efficient -- it is actually inefficient in terms of locating a specic image -- following the common archival rule of retaining original order for the purpose of documenting the cognitive framework within which the documents were created.
